Lawrence Gilbert - 2012 La Romana League MVP

Lawrence Gilbert is one of the most unique basketball players in the world. Gilbert burst on the scene this spring and emerged as M.V.P. in the 2012 La Romana League. At 6-foot-8, 215-pounds, Gilbert is capable of playing on the ball because of his versatility and court vision. He is, however, a terrific passer and a guy with an impressive all around skill set. The versatile forward, he can play all over the floor and scores from the outside as well as going to the rim. He's also confident enough in his post-game to take defenders to the block and show off his fade away jump shot. He's not the fastest or most athletic, but he's certainly a terrific player with an incredibly high basketball IQ.
