Peoria (1-5) 63 | Springfield (1-5) 96 | 4-26-15
Springfield (1-5) 96, Peoria (1-5) 63: (Springfield, Ill.) - In the very first late Sunday night game in league history, with the tip at 8 p.m. local time, the Sentinels finally earned their first victory of the season, routing their in-state rivals Peoria, 96-63. At the start of the second quarter, Peoria used a 9-0 run to tie the game at 24-24, causing some to think this would be a close encounter like their last game against one another in Peoria three weeks ago. But Springfield ended any talk of a competitive game, as they responded with a league-record 23-0 run to blow the game out of reach for the visitors at 47-24, as they ultimately eased to a win. The margin of victory (33 points) matches the league-high this season, as Middle Tennessee defeated Peoria by 33 points on opening night in Nashville (March 28). Peoria and Springfield both host Chattanooga next weekend, on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
