Stockton University senior Josh Blamon (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson) was chosen ECAC Metro Co-Player of the Year and named to the ECAC Metro First Team. Blamon led Stockton to its second consecutive NJAC championship, a trip to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and a 23-6 overall record.
The ECAC recognition caps an extraordinary list of postseason honors for the 6-2 forward. Blamon was named a Second Team All-American by the National Basketball Coaches Association and D3hoops.com. His list of 2015 postseason honors also includes NABC Atlantic District First Team, NJAC Player of the Year, NJAC First Team and D3hoops.com Atlantic Region First Team.
Blamon finished 23rd in the nation in free throws made (147), 26th nationally in free throw percentage and total minutes played (978) plus 40th in total points (519). He led the NJAC in free throw percentage (.880) and ranked third in scoring (17.9 ppg), fourth in three-pointers (2.4/game), fifth in defensive rebounds (4.9/game) and minutes (33.7 mpg) and sixth in rebounds (6.2 rpg).
Blamon topped Stockton in scoring, rebounds, assists (1.9 apg), three-pointers, three-point field goal percentage and free throw percentage. He scored in double digits in 25 of 29 games including 14 games with at least 20 points. Blamon was named NJAC Player of the Week and ECAC Metro Player of the Week on March 2.
Blamon reached the 1,000-point mark at Rutgers-Camden on December 10 and finished his career third all-time at Stockton in three-pointers (209) and fifth in scoring (1,397 points). He also made his mark on Stockton history this year by recording the sixth-highest total for points in a season in school history (519) and eighth-best mark in three-pointers (70).
